Dear Gov Dean - Mobilize the DNC to Support Sen Kerry

Thu Jan 26, 2006 at 10:19:49 PM PDT

27 January 2006 (# 53)

Senator Kerry has demonstrated true courage and leadership in announcing his intent to filibuster the ignominious and anti-Constitutional Alito. Congressional Dems need to unite, to the person, behind Senator Kerry and ensure that Alito never writes a SCOTUS decision.

Yesterday, in the New York Times, the editors of that grossly deficient newspaper stated the following:

Ritter & Jamail to testify at Bush Crimes Commission

Thu Jan 05, 2006 at 03:54:36 PM PDT

The Commission hearings will be held on January 20-22, 2006, at The Riverside Church and the Columbia University Law School in New York.

Scott Ritter is a former United Nations weapons inspector. In September 2002 he told officials that military action against Iraq was unjustified. Since he resigned from the UN weapons inspection team four years ago, Mr. Ritter has been the most outspoken critic of US policy towards Baghdad. He has argued that the inspection team, UNSCOM, was a nest of US spies and that Iraq was disarmed long ago.

Dear Gov. Dean -- Just dial 1-800-CALL-SPY ...

Thu Dec 15, 2005 at 06:14:21 PM PDT

15 December 2005 (# 10)

If only it were a joke. But, it's not.

For starters, the number does not connect you to the Department of Justice or the FBI. Instead, you're dialing the United States Army "CALL SPY Hotline" to report "incidents" within the Republic.

A part of aging should not include being forced to revisit really stupid, un-Constitutional endeavors of one's government that one had hoped were vanquished, forever.

From Hoover's "black bag" and "Cointelpro" operations, including spying on John Lennon and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we all got an ample dose of the type of government that we then firmly rejected as un-American and immoral.

Through the 60's, many of us had direct experiences with the un-Constitutional intrusion of various governmental operatives into our efforts to inform our government that it was performing recklessly and brutally and we wanted that behavior to stop.

Dear Gov Dean -- "America, Or Not?"

Tue Dec 06, 2005 at 06:47:02 PM PDT

Firstly, thank you for your truthful statement about Iraq on WOAI, San Antonio (the radio station my father always played in our car). CNN coverage here -- http://tinyurl.com/...

We hear and read about "framing," and "energizing the base," and a bunch of other stuff, when telling the truth is all that matters.

We both know how many Americans opposed Bush's war of aggression, prior to March 19, 2003.

We all know what happens when folk refuse to speak clearly about Bush's illegal war on Iraq -- 2004 taught us that lesson.

We all know that you can't win at crime - you just keep committing more and more crimes until you are captured and prosecuted, or ....

And, just what would America be if it won at convincing folk that torture is ok, ever?

"We the People ... Have No Clothes"

"We the People ... Have No Clothes" (click to download .pdf file) is a pamphlet that I have written and am now making available, at no cost, for download and distribution.

Preface

To highlight our responsibilities, I have chosen two contemporary events: the war on Iraq and Hurricane Katrina.  The information I have provided was available to decision makers prior to each of these events and, most importantly, was publicly accessible - it was also available to each of you.  That fact illustrates why I chose the title "We the People... Have No Clothes."  That fact also illustrates our civic responsibilities to our Republic.  It underscores our failure as citizens in holding our government and our information media accountable for fulfilling their responsibilities.

Envision the headline -- Iraq WMD Lie: Cheney & Plame Clashed at CIA HQ

Mon Oct 31, 2005 at 10:27:46 PM PDT

When you think of all the trips Cheney is supposed to have made to CIA HQ.

When you think of how badly he, Bush and the neoconsters wanted to launch their imperialistic war on Iraq.

Think about the second, or third, or fourth trip -- he's being rebuffed; his efforts to "fix the intelligence" are being blocked.

The folk at CIA HQ are going to need to be digging deep to show Dickie boy that the facts are the facts; that they know folk have stolen stationary from the Niger Embassy in Rome; they know .... .

"Suddenly the plane just started dropping," wrote Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).

"We did this amazing zigzag in -- sort of spiral down very fast -- and my ears felt horrendous," she said, describing the final approach to the Baghdad airport. "It was like a bad Disneyland ride as we veered left, right up and down to avoid an 'incoming' . . . and I have to admit my stomach was in my throat."

A direct request to Congressman John Conyers from B Robert Franza MD

Tue Oct 04, 2005 at 11:01:03 PM PDT

Good evening Congressman Conyers,

The one Democratic leader who requires no spin, and who likely never will, is you Congressman Conyers.

The Nation needs you to step forward and assume the leadership position you have earned.

I am requesting that everyone join in launching a concerted effort to convince you to declare that if Bush and Cheney are not either forced to resign or are impeached before Nov 2006, then after you lead the Democrats to capturing the majority in both the House and the Senate in 2006 - based on a campaign laser focused on the vast criminality of the Bush administration and his Republican 109th Congress -- you will then lead the effort to impeach both Bush and Cheney in the House, and assist your colleagues in the Senate to convict both of them.

My fellow Americans -- 'We The People .... Have No Clothes'

Wed Aug 17, 2005 at 11:36:25 PM PDT

Let us probe why many Americans, including several whom I've asked the direct question, do not want to confront the reality of Bush meeting with Cindy Sheehan and telling her the truth regarding the 'noble cause' that Casey Sheehan died serving.

I think, deep down, most realize the fact that it was not a 'noble cause.' It was what I diagnosis as a malignant disease infecting many Americans -- 'remorseless consumeritis.'

Bush and the neoconsters know that 42,636 Americans were killed in motor-vehicle related accidents in 2004.

They also know that most other Americans don't give a flip.

Thus, to most Americans, what's a thousand or two Americans killed in Iraq in over two years if it ensures that millions of remorseless American consumers can drive vehicles big enough to sleep four or more in luxury, compared to the shelter 100s of millions elsewhere on the planet call 'home.'

"Don't Look For These Names Among The Dead & Wounded"

Mon Aug 15, 2005 at 09:46:15 AM PDT

VelvetRevolution today launched a long-term advertisement and awareness campaign to galvanize American citizens into taking their country back from those who believe that they are untouchable and unaccountable. This campaign will graphically show that those in power have lost touch with real people through a pattern of lies, corruption, fear mongering, incompetence, indifference and arrogance.

Please bring laser-focus to the call for "We The People...." to reflect on the horrors of our complacency in the face of the theocratic neoconster devastation of our Constitution, our America, our ethos as a People who care, who cherish diversity, and who would never condone the horrors in Iraq and in the homes of our fellow citizens that are resultant from those who stole our nation in 2000 and 2004.

Will Pitt: "Shelter from the Storm" & May 2nd 2005

Mon Mar 28, 2005 at 09:44:13 AM PDT

Will Pitt's Shelter from the Storm offers an interesting and provactive perspective:

"It's the hypocrisy, stupid. It goes on and on and on, and it is exhausting in the extreme to consider, much less address and attack. Lately, the hypocrisy needle has been pegged over into the red. Leave it to the Republican majority to take an important issue, an issue filled with questions about medical ethics, the rights of the disabled people, the rights of spouses, the place of federalism in a national debate and the simple value of human life, and transmogrify it into a ghoulish circus sideshow best used to score political points and do a little fundraising on the side."

Mission NOT Accomplished, May 2 2005 (and beyond)

Sun Mar 27, 2005 at 10:20:11 PM PDT

Welcome to Mission Not Accomplished

Be creative; be persistent in spreading the message.

We are not an organization; we don't seek donations.

Use your 'personal capital' -- your time and the resources you already have and do all you can do on May 2 2005 to relax, reflect, remember and share.

After May 2 2005, when the 5-2-5 "knotted rope" appears in an email, a fax, or some other form of communication, on the following day extend the spirit MNA into that day.

With repetition, if required, we expect that together we will create a different America -- one truly reflective of the principles of our Constitution.

And, we will inspire others to share with us a true democracy for humanity; respecting of each individual, nurturing of the diversity of humanity and always remembering those who sacrificed to provide us the opportunity to ensure that others will experience the wonders of life on planet earth.

Peace

06012005: What will YOU make happen on this day?

Fri Dec 17, 2004 at 05:29:19 PM PDT

Dear dKos Community,

I am on a mission. Between now and 6 Jan 2005 I will be a pest because that is about all I can do with the resources I have.

I will be polite, but persistent.

I am re-posting an earlier diary because I do not think it received the attention the issue requires.

Subsequent diaries will all begin with "O6012005" and will contain a variety of prods, news items, comments from others, pleas, and incitements to act to halt the failed and dangerous 2004 national election process and REVOTE.

Thank you.

What you are about to read is amazing and precisely the type of gutsy, in your face attitude it takes if you are facing an adversity and have any hope of surviving. I have emailed the author of the Seattle Times story and requested he forward my comments to Mr Munro.

If Munro thinks its cool for WA; let's make it happen for the USA

Fri Dec 17, 2004 at 02:06:40 PM PDT

"Former Secretary of State Ralph Munro, a key supporter of Republican Dino Rossi during the contentious recounts in Washington's race for governor, says it may be time to toss out all of the votes and do the election over. Munro, who oversaw the state's elections system for 20 years before retiring in 2000, said a new vote is probably the only way to restore voter confidence and get a clear winner."

"This thing could just degenerate and spiral downward," Munro said yesterday. "Whoever eventually becomes governor is going to have a very hard time governing, and we're going to go through four years of flopping around."

Precisely, Mr Munro. And, what you suggest is what all our fellow citizens should be demanding on 6 Jan 2005, for the leadership of our Nation.

You ask why? Let me tell you.

And, hint, hint - I'm just one of thousands of voices who are already saying, and more importantly doing whatever it will take to make a re-vote happen, nation-wide, in early 2005, for President and Vice President of the United States of America.

Olbermann interacts with Congressman Conyers

Wed Dec 15, 2004 at 10:51:53 PM PDT

Earlier today, Congressman Conyers joined Mr Olbermann on "Countdown."

I posted a brief "transcript" of Congressman Conyers comments here:

http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2004/12/15/191632/54/111#111

Mr Olbermann has posted the following:

"The ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee told us tonight on Countdown that he and others in Congress are considering formally challenging the slate of electors who cast Ohio's votes, when those votes are opened and counted before a joint session of Congress on January 6th.

"We're prepared to do that," Conyers said. "And we understand the law as well as you." After the on-air interview ended, the Michigan representative added that he and his colleagues had not yet decided whether or not to take the extraordinary constitutional step, and he had not sought the support of a Senator who would have to co-sign the challenge." NY Times: Lawmaker Seeks Inquiry Into Ohio Vote [UPDATED]

Tue Dec 14, 2004 at 11:07:35 PM PDT

Lawmaker Seeks Inquiry Into Ohio Vote
By TOM ZELLER Jr.

Published: December 15, 2004

The ranking Democratic member of the House Judiciary Committee, Representative John Conyers Jr. of Michigan, plans to ask the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a county prosecutor in Ohio today to explore "inappropriate and likely illegal election tampering" in at least one and perhaps several Ohio counties.

The request for an investigation, made in a letter that was also provided to The New York Times, includes accounts from at least two county employees, but is based largely on a sworn affidavit provided by the Hocking County deputy director of elections, Sherole Eaton."
