May Day 2008: We're "Designed" with Spines, Use 'Em!
Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 11:07:42 AM PDT
Just as our muscles rely on our skeleton to be of any use, our nation's military and economic might requires the support of We the People.
This first of May, a day recognized world-wide for labor rights struggles (except in America), blue-collar workers, union members, concerned citizens and immigrants will halt our industrial heartbeat at midday.

Thanks and may reality reach us all.
Note: The use of an "intelligent design" reference in the title is a reminder that without vocal opposition and adherence to fact/reality, our country will continue to follow the Ben Stein's and George Bush's into failure and ignorance. We must cease this tumble toward infamy before it's too late.
Our Community Helped Us Break 250!
Fri Dec 07, 2007 at 02:30:46 PM PDT
Spending my Friday morning dodging other pressing duties, I managed to update:
scandalist.info
I'd been slacking in my duties on the client side of the site, but have been dutifully tracking the malfeasances of our Administration over the past months.
So, at noon, resting comfortably ::shudder:: with a 249 count, I intended this diary to be a promotional plea to help me reach 250.
Scandalist™ is Growing! 178 Scandalous Things to Pass Along
Tue May 15, 2007 at 02:52:39 PM PDT

This list has gained more than twenty (20) more entries since my last "official" post.
Download the PDF to print and share (it's got links too!) or Download the Microsfot Word Document to view with a bit more viewing space and leisure (you can print this too, but it's 6 pages, not worth it to waste a tree on a shrub).
But please remember, impeachment isn't a solution to all the evils in our government or capitalistic society.
Take the time to read any of Daniel Quinn's books. Read Ishmael and then read The Story of B. Might take your mind, and heart, to a new place. Peace!
The list unfolds below...
Bush & Cheney's Scandalist™
Wed May 09, 2007 at 04:24:05 PM PDT
Welcome to my, sadly, growing list of Bush Administration scandals, dirty tricks and shenanigans that continue to lead our country further into the greasy palms of the few, the wealthy and the greedy (usally all three rolled into one).I'll be trying to keep up on the list, but if you look at my other diaries here, here & here, you'll quickly see how SNAFU this has all become. Hopefully you'll join us in calling for impeachment.
Thanks to everyone here on DailyKos, my two amigos, gf and parents for the input and support. Peace!
Bush Scandals, Dirty Tricks and 143 Reasons for an Uprising
Tue May 01, 2007 at 06:53:06 PM PDT
So, this is my third of four diaries attempting to catalog all of the Bush Administration scandals, dirty tricks and attacks on democracy.
Please offer any critical advice. I've decided to refrain from saying ALL of the list are scandals and have accepted the suggestion of saying "dirty tricks." I know that some might feel that some on the list are more partisan debate rather than scandal or criminal, if you feel so, please let me know which ones rather than doing a blanket statement.
Please suggest anything that might be off the list, if you can, include a verifiable link to the crime/scandal/etc. that can help defend the accusation.
Once this round of vetting is over, I will publish the fourth diary with a word document complete with links, a PDF for printing and flyering and a prayer that our country will awake from this disaster and Impeach these sick fools.
Peace, and on to the list....
67 scandals... wait, make that 68!
Fri Apr 27, 2007 at 09:59:41 PM PDT
In my support of A28, I've neared completion of my list of Bush Administration scandals. Please go through them and offer any additions or criticism. I appreciate the effort.
Peace

Current Bush Scandal Count... Proof Read/Add To
Thu Apr 12, 2007 at 02:36:16 PM PDT
I've been doing some public outreach with street signs decorated with some choice sentences... "Question 9/11" (go ahead, troll me, won't change my opinion), "Impeach Bush & Dick", "Bush & Co. Must Go!", "Hooray 4 War!" and a few others.
My latest sign idea is a count of the number of scandals plaguing (bad choice of words considering they're all of their OWN doing) this administration. So, I need some assistance to make sure I'm not inflating the number or shooting too low. The criteria are:
- Must involve some portion of the Executive branch, doesn't have to be Bush involved all the time
- Must be true.
- Doesn't necessarily have to be illegal, but must be detrimental to the common good (this is where I might remove some to ensure impact of the truly evil ones
Also, I might be thinking about just making it a big party and include all Republican scandals. I'll see where I get with this list, and with your help. So, thanks in advance.
Ghost of Cunningham Haunts Hunter (CA-52)
Thu Oct 19, 2006 at 05:44:58 PM PDT
One of Congress' longest lasting members, Duncan Hunter (CA-52), may have just run out of flava'.
I live in CA-52. John Rinaldi is the Democrat candidate running for Hunter's seat. He sent me an email filled with hope and uplifting news...
Hunter is now officially linked with the Duke of Disgrace, Cunningham.
Come rejoice with me below...

Update [2005-5-16 14:41:22 by rickpickett]: The letter I posted here is being removed by request from the author.
While he appreciates and is grateful for the praise and comments for his writing, he views his role in the war as a combatant, not a correspondent. Wish him luck and please, still stop by these organizations to lend a hand to those still there, and those that have returned.

Our guys and gals need our constant support (in addition to the vets who have returned). You can help boost morale in this time of deceit and selfish behavior on part of our Administration.

Open Letter to the DLC (Denizens Leaning Center)
Mon Apr 04, 2005 at 09:38:11 AM PDT
Ummm... yeah. Where is our collective mind as an opposition party? I understand compromise, and am open to discussion and tactics for protecting American interests (militarily, socially and economically). However, I do not abide by the word play the GOP has used against us, to the extent of convincing the DLC that antiwar Liberals are anti-fight-terrorism, and I am afraid of such verbal attacks from our own base.
My open letter below the fold...
Open Letter to ADL (Re: Sen. Byrd's Comments)
Wed Mar 02, 2005 at 08:09:01 PM PDT
Dear Anti-Defamation League,
Okay, okay, okay. Enough with this unilateral ban on comparing anything to Nazi, Hitler or any of the governmental policies of the Third Reich. While I do not condone any of the actions taken by the Nazis or Hitler, I do support the right to free speech and accurate analogies to some of their practices.
Where we failed - Challenging Ballotless Voting
Fri Nov 05, 2004 at 12:23:48 PM PDT
Attention People for a True Democracy:
I'm cutting to the chase. I'm dissapointed but have found a renewed vigor in my fight for proper and just representation and the democratic process.
The lobbies challenging e-voting need to be supported.
We failed before Nov. 2nd in raising the awareness that these machines had the capability to give the vote to Bush.
One of these consortiums is: http://www.openvotingconsortium.org
I've already become a $10/month member and would suggest you spread the word- for this, or any other lobby, but remember, we need our powers consolidated.
It DOES work...
Tue Oct 26, 2004 at 05:36:03 PM PDT
I've been following this debacle they call an Administration since November 2000. I had assumed I would never be able to reach my Republican family members and show them the real alternative.
Today, after months of forwards, links, pictures and personal pleas, I've received word that my grandfather and aunt will be voting for Kerry next Tuesday. This change of heart on their part has given me extra incentive to reach out to the my sister and brother-in-law.
In short, please keep pushing and prodding your right-wing kin. Keep the dialogue polite and use your worry/love card because, at least in my case, it's the truth.
Good luck.
