PROVEN w/ Polls -- The Myth of the Big State Strategy

As we move into the six week slumber in the Democratic primary, we can hope that one of two forces works to end a nasty situation that may only grow more troublesome with time -- (1) either the adults in the Democratic party can move in and fix the system, or (2) the press can start to exercise some independent judgment and do more than simply parrot campaign talking points.
The most egregious example of the later point is the adoption of (without critical examination) Clinton's "Big State" strategy. In short, that strategy suggests that Hillary will be the stronger candidate in November if she wins (even narrowly) a series of primaries large states (NY, CA, OH, NJ, PA) that Democrats will try to win in the general election. The strategy is not based in any fact or logic, but merely is the only story that can be cobbled together by the Clinton campaign based upon the very few assets it has amassed this primary season. Rather that dismissing the strategy as mere spin that seeks to change the rules or move the goal posts to serve her dire situation, the media laps it up without critical thought.
